”That Groove” by Shinjuku Zulu has appeared in multiple tv series around the world, from the Shield to Alias…
The hook of this song is a short vocal snippet from another Shinjuku Zulu song, “A Clubber’s Life”, from the same album “Shinjuku Zulu”. (That song was a messy attempt at at sad dance song and didn’t quite work.)
I often use other parts of songs to create threads and links between albums. The song “Nevermine” from the third release samples the song “Mrs Major Tom” from the second album. “Rashomon” uses microsamples from all the previous 30+ songs, kinda like using pixels to create a jpeg.
