I'm doing an artist residency at the Banff Centre fall 2017. (Artists, curators, critics, writers etc. from all around the world attend the Center to develop their work). I'm going to be doing the first stage of an infinite sculpture that is also a painting. That is also an installation. That is also an organism, a time crystal, a node, a mob, music, and a virus. A sculpture that is a function. This first stage will be ambitiously big, but it will grow even larger in scale as subsequent parts are made over time in other international settings or residencies. Just had a two hour studio visit with a curator from the AGO,  linking the work from the early linear A/B/A/B/ collages done in Tokyo through the remxible installations and sculpture work to the digital ice graffiti, laser palimpsest and outdoor ephemeral art, to the latest genetically modified object explorations...

Montreal. Synchronicity 20: arrive hotel, flick on tv. Land randomly on a French music channel. It happens to be showing a documentary. John Lennon is in bed, with Yoko, giving interviews... in a strangely familiar looking room. Turns out they staged their bed-in at the very same hotel. (This is the third time-collapse-music synchro in the last couple months; the others were a song randomly playing at the same time the very song was referenced in a book I was reading; another was walking past a cafe named after a song/video I'd seen only hours earlier).
